WHO CAN DRIVE UTS VEHICLES AND EXECUTIVE REMUNERATION VEHICLES
The following insurance information does not affect the driver access policies applied by the relevant Management Units for UTS pooled motor vehicles.
UTS Senior Staff Group (SSG) packaged motor vehicles are costed into an employee's salary package. That employee is responsible for determining the driver of the SSG motor vehicle.
UTS pooled motor vehicles are subject to the motor vehicle access provisions. Authorised drivers of pooled motor cars are determined by the relevant management unit.
Both SSG and authorised pooled motor vehicle drivers are covered by the UTS motor vehicle insurance policy with CGU.
General Staff who have their car under salary package scheme are covered under the custom fleet insurance through the Insurer Lumleys.
EXCESS
Under the CGU insurance policy, the applicable excess of $500 will be charged to the employee's cost centres.
- Complete the relevant claim form (CGU or Lumleys)
- Submit the claim form to the Insurer.
- Insurance company will directly with the claimant.
AT THE ACCIDENT SCENE
Contact Police
Contact the Police immediately if any vehicle requires towing, if alcohol is involved or if someone is injured.
Injuries
One of the first things you must assess at the scene of an accident is whether anyone is injured.
If an injury is life-threatening DIAL "000" immediately.
To avoid further harm, never move seriously injured people unless there is a greater risk to their safety by leaving them where they are. Instead, wait until trained help arrives.
To avoid personal injury, try to stand off the roadway when discussing the accident.
